I needed something to battle a cold during my trip to Alva and Chopsticks absolutely helped me find a recovering meal. I found their egg drop soup to be not only delicious, but help alleviate my symptoms. The side of rice was also nice. I need to come back to try more of their menu items!

Do NOT judge by looks! This place was amazing. The table was a little sticky, but other than that, everything was very clean! The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered an appetizer, soups, egg rolls, and of course our entrees. Everything came out VERY fresh and hot! The flavor was perfect. The service was very quick. We actually liked it so much that we ordered more food to take back home for dinner later!

For a super small town this place definitely offers some very good food. There wasn't too many things to choose from but all the dishes that are most commonly ordered. The sweet and sour chicken meal can feed two but you'd have to order extra rice as they're a bit small of a side. They're super quick and the employees are really nice. The buffet they run is small and has the most common food ordered as well.

Chopsticks

Craving authentic Asian flavors in Alva, Oklahoma? Chopsticks at 905 Oklahoma Blvd is the local go-to for bold taste, generous portions, and a warm, no-fuss dining experience that keeps people coming back.

Where to Find the Best Asian Cuisine in Alva, Oklahoma

For anyone searching for flavorful Chinese food in northwest Oklahoma, Chopsticks is the hidden gem you’ve probably driven past a dozen times without realizing what you were missing. Tucked right on Oklahoma Boulevard, this diner-style spot combines the charm of small-town hospitality with the kind of rich, savory dishes you’d expect from a bustling urban kitchen.

Walk through the door and you're greeted by the aroma of garlic, ginger, and freshly steamed rice—comfort food if you grew up eating Chinese takeout on Friday nights, and a delightful surprise if you're just discovering this kind of cuisine. Locals swear by the General Tso’s Chicken, which comes out piping hot with a perfectly balanced sweet-and-spicy glaze, and the beef lo mein is a generous, satisfying dish with a great chew from the noodles and just the right crunch from stir-fried vegetables.

What makes Chopsticks stand out isn’t just what’s on the menu, though—it’s the way it feels like home. The staff remember your name, they know if you like extra sauce, and they’ll chat with you while you wait for your food to come out fresh from the kitchen. Whether you're dining in or taking it to-go, it's the kind of place that values regulars.

Discover the Local Favorite Dishes People Keep Raving About

If you're someone who reads reviews before picking a restaurant, you’ll find a consistent pattern: people love how fresh and flavorful the food is. There’s no mystery to it—Chopsticks doesn't cut corners. The vegetables are crisp, the meats are tender, and each dish feels like it was cooked with care. Real care, not the "heat lamp and rush it out" kind of vibe.

I’ve eaten here on lazy Sundays and busy weekdays, and the quality doesn’t dip. One time, I asked the owner if they used MSG, just out of curiosity. He smiled and said they cook in a way that brings out natural umami, using soy sauce, sesame oil, and house-made stocks to layer flavor. That’s experience talking—and it shows in every bite.

Another personal favorite? The Hot and Sour Soup. It has depth. Earthy mushrooms, tofu, and that sharp vinegary tang that hits the back of your throat just right on cold days. Perfect when you're feeling under the weather or just want something cozy.

Beyond the Food: Why Chopsticks is a Community Staple

More than just a place to eat, Chopsticks has become a local spot where stories are shared, college students gather after class from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and families pop in after little league games. The location plays a big part—right on the main road, with plenty of parking and easy access for both Alva locals and travelers passing through.

The décor? Nothing fancy—simple tables, clean booths, and a small-town diner layout—but that’s exactly the charm. It doesn’t pretend to be a sleek big-city restaurant. It just delivers on flavor, value, and consistency. And really, that’s what people want.

The lunch specials are priced well, with options that rotate enough to keep things interesting. You’ll find everything from sesame chicken to spicy curry noodles, often served with egg rolls and fried rice that are anything but filler. The portions are generous—plan for leftovers, or bring a friend to share.

Chopsticks: A Trusted Name for Flavor and Familiarity

There’s something refreshing about a place that doesn't try to be trendy, but ends up being exactly what people need. Chopsticks isn’t reinventing the wheel—it’s just doing it right. That’s what builds trust. People come back not because it’s flashy, but because it’s dependable, delicious, and affordable.

When you sit down and eat a meal here, you feel like part of something. Maybe it’s the familiar faces at the counter, or the easy rhythm of dishes being delivered to tables with a smile. Maybe it’s the fact that they don’t just know how to cook—they know how to listen. Special request? No problem. Allergies? They’ll check. Need something fast on your lunch break? They’ve got you.

This is the kind of spot that doesn’t need a national franchise name behind it. It’s built on word of mouth, on families telling other families, on students texting each other, “Let’s hit up Chopsticks.” And that kind of reputation? You earn it, one plate at a time.
